GENOVA CHE OSA

Genova che osa (“Daring Genoa”, GECO) is a social and cultural, progressive, democratic, and inclusive non-profit organisation that focuses on fighting inequalities, and increasing democratic engagement, solidarity, and inclusion in Genoa and Liguria, Italy. Our values and long-term goals are defined by GECO’s manifesto, which we drafted through a participatory process involving more than 200 people. GECO was founded in 2017.
We work along three intertwined streams:
1) Community organising to empower people in our community to get organised and active around common ideas and proposals.
2) The centre for studies and culture to carry out research, and draft policy proposals.
3) Civic activism and political training for youths through our academy “Hope: Space for political experimentations” to get more marginalised people engaged, mostly youth, women, queer people.
