Fundación Padre Cámara Colegio La Inmaculada de Armenteros

I would like to introduce myself. My name is José María Blas Rodríguez Boyero and I am the Headmaster of a Foundation which, as we explain in the enclosed plan, manages a teaching institution and a boarding school called “La Inmaculada de Armenteros”. This project arises in the early fifties in our geographical area, in the heart of the rural world in the boundaries of the provinces of Salamanca and Avila, whose population is continuously going away because of scarcity, in order to help the farmers children lacking of means and of those educational possibilities which are necessary to receive a proper education and to aspire to a better future.
With the passage of time, the school has opened its doors and has admitted pupils from several regions of Spain and other countries. Some school years, we reached more than a thousand schoolchildren. Actually, during the last seventy years, thousands of children have been educated in our school.
Our educational work has been recognised by different provincial and regional Spanish institutions, as it can be seen for example through the First Award to the Quality for the Compensatory Education Programs. We developed this Program during the school year 2002-2003 and we received the Award directly from the National Ministry of Education, Mrs. Pilar del Castillo. Apart from this, we were also granted with other certificates from our local and regional Offices of Education.
