Fundación Hermanos Obreros de María

HOM Foundation is a private cultural Foundation, registered in the Spanish Registry of Educational Foundations and classified as "Charitable Educational Institution of public interest" since 1977. FHOM has considerable experience over 30 years in the following areas:

-Social inclusion.
-Employment and entrepreneurship.
-Education & training.
-Educational Institution

The Foundation manages a primary, secondary and vocational education school with more than 400 children and youth who are in a situation of real or potential risk of social exclusion. Our educational project offers comprehensive care tailored to the specific needs of each child at risk and those of their families.

Day Care Centre
It is an educational resource that aims to support families who have difficulties in attending to their children due to their social-work and/or personal situation. The beneficiaries are students with ages between 3 and 18 years. The day centre offers school transport, morning classroom and school canteen service.

Residential Programs:
- Care Program: 80% of minors are youth immigrants ages 3 to 17. The main objective is to promote the development of minors and their social and labour integration by offering them a care home for this. Each resident participates in an individualized independent living curriculum focused on instruction, positive therapeutic mediations, and real-life experiences.

- High-Intensity Program. Care program with youth immigrants ages over 18. Residents learn basic skills such as cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry, as well as key independent living skills like completing job applications, interviewing, maintaining employment, money and time management, utilizing public transportation, and meeting housing needs. Residents also have access to treatment support and prevention services.

- Children´s Home program. The program provides services to children ages 4 to 16. The main purpose is schooling assistance of disadvantaged children and youth.

Volunteer Program.
This program allows high education, post- graduate, PHD and Master University students to participate regularly in volunteer opportunities. HOM Foundation has established collaboration agreements for conducting annual volunteer program with universities and training centres.

HOM Foundation is actively participating and seeking participation in EU-funded programs. It seeks to increasingly promote Spanish participation in EU affairs in the social inclusion and youth areas. FHOM is involved in both promoting European values as the local ones on cultural, educational and economic level through the application and the development of innovative and participatory methodologies and tools.

In this sense HOM Foundation participates regularly as Spanish partner in Erasmus projects with the aim of increasing the chances of European mobility for students and teachers.
