Foundation “FOR TOMORROW” is a non-profit legal entity established at the end of 2017 in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria. The mission of our foundation is to focus on the strengths of youth with special educational needs and intellectual disabilities, as well as to develop the interests and strengths of youth while providing training, lectures, webinars, seminars, workshops, support, inclusion, and social inclusion. For the realization of the foundation's main goal, the following specific goals have been set:
- improving the quality of life of young people with special educational needs and in need of social integration, with delays or deviations in their development and integration as equal members of society;
- promoting the exchange of information, good practices, experience, awareness and support of young people, despite the medical and social challenges they face.
Foundation “FOR TOMORROW” strives for a large part of young people to overcome their deficits and become full-fledged and full-fledged members of society. Transformation from potential users of social services to living citizens contributing to the development of our society. The foundation's main activities include promoting appropriate care, non-formal and informal learning, education, employment, life support, adapted medical and social services, professional diagnostics, early intervention, protection against discrimination and better social inclusion to promote the well-being of youth with special educational needs and in need of social integration, with delays or deviations in development, as well as any other initiatives that have the potential to provide quality services to youth to prevent their abandonment and successful social integration in general. The foundation's main target group is young people with special educational needs and intellectual disabilities who experience difficulties related to their personal and professional development, inclusion, integration and their participation in democratic life as active citizens. When it comes to children with special needs, the problem of their integration comes to the fore. The foundation team strives daily for their active inclusion at the local, regional, national, European and international levels. One of the main problems that the foundation faces when working with young people is their lack of confidence to deal with difficulties independently, forming a dependence on the external environment, on other people's opinions, self-isolation as a result of discriminatory or intolerant attitudes, succumbing to limitations and inabilities to search and use the opportunities, etc. All this leads to the deepening of their problems or to acquiesce and indulge in the way of life that is compromised and against their own values, beliefs and dreams.
