Fethiye District Governorship is the main public authority responsible for coordinating and implementing education, youth, social inclusion, health, security, culture, tourism, environment, and local development policies at district level in Fethiye, a coastal and tourism-oriented region in south-west Türkiye with a population of over 180,000 inhabitants.
The Governorship oversees and coordinates a wide range of public institutions and services, including education, health and social services, youth and sports, public security, population and civil registry, migration and social support, agriculture and forestry, culture and heritage, tourism, port and maritime services, and local public administration. Through this comprehensive institutional structure, the Governorship ensures effective public service delivery and strong inter-institutional cooperation.
Fethiye hosts over 100 public primary, secondary, and vocational schools, higher education institutions, youth and sports facilities, and cultural and social infrastructures. The District Governorship works in close cooperation with schools, universities, NGOs, municipalities, social service providers, and local stakeholders, as well as national and international partners.
With its strong coordination capacity, policy-level mandate, and access to diverse target groups, Fethiye District Governorship actively supports and participates in European Union–funded projects, contributing to social inclusion, youth empowerment, employability, public capacity building, and sustainable local development, while ensuring the sustainability and scalability of project results.
