We are a NGO placed in the North-East of France, precisely in Lorraine’s area in a village named Poussay, beside Mirecourt. The core business of our work is the rural development. The local initiatives are supported by the organization and contributes to the quality, the wealth and the dynamism of the rural life. Our actions are guided by some elemental principles like the promotion of the participatory democracy, the contribution of the emancipation of people and the emergence of a fraternal society: the fight against socials inequalities and the social isolation. We promote the non formal education and the lifelong learning. Our audience is large: kids, teenagers, young adults, adults, older people… Because it depends of the local initiatives or the help of the local population, the activities are varied: arts and crafts, sports, training, cultural events, mobility experimentation…
Since 2015, the “Fédération des Foyers ruraux” has wished to initiate a new dynamic around the development of mobility projects for young people in connection with its educational project.
The “Fédération des Foyers Ruraux” organized a partnership with a Belgian structure: “CIAJ-AMO” for a youth exchange project in Belgium from 17th to 25th July 2016 for young people aged 13 to 17 years old. The 24 teenagers realized a big graffiti with a professional and they crossed the country to discover their cultural wealth and the evolution of the graffiti, especially in Brussels. The main and specific objectives are the intercultural dialogue, differences expressions of ideas and opinions of young people, learning an artistic technic and the cooperation between them.
Based on the evaluation of our previous youth exchange project, we have jointly built a new project. This project took place in Metz (Moselle, Lorraine, North East of France) from July 29th to 6th August 2017. The group were mixed: 19 teenagers are in this project, 9 Belgian urban teenagers and 10 French rural teenagers aged between 14 and 19 years old. The main activity of this project are the achievement of an exhibition by using the engraving technic on the theme of commitment. During this project, the teenagers have shared their opinions while they’re working side to side. The engraving were realized by the teenagers and were copied. That way, the exhibition was presented in France as in Belgium.
During July 2018, we will take part in a youth exchange project with 3 others partners from Slovakia, Estonia and Germany.
If you want to discuss about a partnership or a potential youth exchange which will take place in July 2019, you can send me an email !
