Evergreen Association is a Hungarian youth NGO based in Érd, just outside Budapest. Ten youth workers founded it, and while the organisation itself is young, the people behind it have years in the European youth field through ESN sections, European Solidarity Corps volunteering and other NGOs.
We work with young people aged 16 to 30 around three things: wellbeing, community and sustainability. The young people we meet are worn out in a way sleep does not fix. They are online from morning to night, they measure themselves against everyone else, and many feel alone in a crowded room. Our answer is practical. Time outdoors, phones put away, real conversation, and a group that meets again in two weeks whether or not you had a good day. We are youth workers, not mental health professionals, and we are clear about that with every participant.
Since August 2026 we have run a youth meeting series every second week, with around fifteen young people each time. We keep it that size on purpose, because at fifteen everyone still gets to speak. Between the meetings we hold picnics and board game evenings. Our next two community actions are a litter collection day and a group hike. We also work with other Hungarian youth associations rather than building separately, because one shared community is worth more than five small ones.
Youth exchange on stress, attention and slowing down. 30 young people, 5 countries, Hungary, second half of 2027. Non-formal methods, real tools, public event.
