AEGEE is one of Europe’s biggest interdisciplinary student organisations, striving for a democratic, diverse and borderless Europe. As a non-governmental, politically independent, and non-profit organisation AEGEE is open to students and young people from all faculties and disciplines. Founded in 1985 in Paris, today AEGEE has grown to a Network of 13000 friends, present in 200 cities in 40 countries all over Europe.
AEGEE-Warszawa is one of the local antennas that are part of the Netowork. We were established in 1992 and since that time we actively contribute to enhancing young people lives and to encouraging them to take an active role in shaping their societies and themselves.
AEGEE operates in a unique structure, as it directly connects its local groups and the European level bodies without any national level of organisation, reflecting AEGEE’s ideal of a Europe without border.
The work of AEGEE’s members contributes to achieving the main aims of the organisation, which are the following:
• Promoting a unified Europe without prejudices
• Striving for the creation of an open and tolerant society of today and tomorrow
• Fostering democracy, Human Rights, tolerance, cross border cooperation, mobility, and a European dimension within Education
• Representing the rights of students and young people in Europe
We are trying to achieve the goals through local and international projects, conferences, seminars, intercultural exchanges, training courses, and case study trips. Among the popular project we organize is Summer University that combines non-formal learning with discovering local cultures and getting to now people representing different cultures. We also focus on internal education of our member through organizing local and European training courses on different topics like project management, human resources, fundraising etc.
