ELSA - The European Law Student's Association, Local Group Belgrade is an association of citizens. It is an independent, non-political and non-profit association – of law students and young lawyers. The area of achieving the goals is to establish, develop and promote international understanding, cooperation, legal ethics and personal contacts between the law students of different countries and legal systems in order to prepare for future professional work of lawyers in accordance with international standards.
Founded in 1987, ELSA Belgrade bases its activities on organization of and participation in seminars, conferences, summer schools of law run by ELSA International, student exchange groups at a national and local level with other countries, book promotions, paper presentations, organization of public debates by highly respected guests from the world of law, culture and politics, and training its members in project design and communication skill development.
The objectives of ELSA Belgrade are:
-Developing knowledge of other cultures and legal systems for law students, in the spirit of critical dialogue and scientific cooperation;
- Improving the professional skills of law students that reflect the international spirit;
- Developing and strengthening professional ethics and responsibilities of future lawyers and law students and to provide incentives to behave and work for the good of society;
- Improving and developing other activities to achieve the objectives of the association.
Target groups are law students, young lawyers and other young people.
Our vision is a just world that respects human dignity and cultural diversity.
