European Ecology Center

Civil Society Organization “European Ecology Centre” (in further text: CSO) is a non-governmental and non-profit CSO, founded with the aim of realizing the goals in the area of:
-Contributing to the raising the consciousness of the need and care to environment protection and conservation together with preservation of human and ecological rights.
-Commitment to the affirmation and encouragement of the rural development and the sustainable development and the development of the community as a whole.
Specific goals of the CSO

Goals of the CSO are: improvement of the environment protection, education of the citizens, education of the youth and children about the significance of the environment protection and conservation, together with the public impact on the habit change when it comes to use and protection of the natural recourses and treatment of waste, affirmation of the civil sector for participation in the local development of the community.
In order to realize general and specific goals in this statute, the CSO:
1) Collects, reads in interprets scientific and specific literature in the area of the environment protection and sustainable development.
2) Organizes, alone or together with the other organizations scientific assemblies, counseling, seminars, and other forms of educational activities in both areas environment protection and development of the local community.
3) Publishes books and other publications concerning the questions related to environment protection in accordance to the Law
4) Works on establishing of cooperation in the region, tolerance, and mutual respect of differences among peoples and cultures.
5) Raises the consciousness of the citizens of the need for active participation and action in decision-making issues in order to preserve their legitimate rights and protect their own interests, as well as regarding public goods protection on the local level.
6) Cooperates with the media in local communities for the contribution of the civil society development in accordance to the general and specific aims of the CSO.
7) Encourages and supports activism of the youth at a local level.
8) Cooperates with universities, schools, expert organizations and other CSOs in Serbia and abroad that are concerned with environmental protection.
