EUCan

EUCan is an informal group of young people established within the Erasmus+ Programme in early 2015, based in Silves, Algarve region.
The group has main priority is to include disadvantaged kids, youngsters and elderly people and help them to integrate with the society, especially those who have been out of the education system for a long time.

EUCan is a not-for-profit organisation formed by several youth/social workers from the region of Algarve. The members had previously volunteered for other NGOs in the Portugal (and continue to do so), but wanted to create a group that was more focused on their shared passions of film, photography, digital media and to empower young people to become more independent, active and entrepreneurial.

Our main goals are:
- to promote European opportunities among youth;
- to support people in their personal, professional and civil development;
- to increase the youth and adults’ participation in the civic life of their community;
- to promote new ideas and innovations in the field of education and professional practice, lifelong learning, formal and non-formal education etc;
- to promote education for development and intercultural dialogue;
- to facilitate the exchange of information and good practices with emphasis on lifelong education, international cooperation and social dialogue;
- to act against unemployment among youth.
