Eti Sosyal Bilimler Lisesi( Social Science High School) started its education in the education year of 2005-2006. According to the 2013 statics, it is one of the Social High School located in different 31 cities in Turkey. Social High Schools are the schools aiming to educate distinguished scientist candidates who are needed in the field of education and social science. In this respect, These schools prepare the students to the higher education whose interest and skills are at the highest level in the field of education and social sciences. The curriculum of these schools are prepared to teach Turkish and at least 2 languages to keep abreast of all the latest scientific, cultural and technological development . They pave the way to their students to lead them to search in different fields and produce a projects.
Eti Sosyal Bilimler High School admits about 120 students each year according to the results of student placement examination in secondary education of The Ministry of National Education. The period of education is 4 years except preparatory class. In each class, smart boards (Interactive boards) and computers are available. In school there are 4 laboratories consisting of computer, biology, physics and chemistery. There is a conference room for about 400 attendants, a computer recording system supported library and counseling service.
In Eti Sosyal Bilimler High School we carry on our education with 1 school principle, 3 vice principles and 44 teachers. Among the teachers there are some teachers who have master or ph.d. degrees or ongoing studies.
Today we have almost 490 students taking education. Eti Sosyal Bilimler High School is a boarding school. Approximately 93 girls and 108 boys are boarding. In dormitory , the students’ coming from different cities and different cultures provide the basis to differentiate into comprehension approach. Hence,the support to all the studies for the development of the students in problem solving, motivation and social skills gain more importance.
If the students desires, they may be able to attend in baccalaureate programme. Another distinctive feature of the school is to have scientific advisory cohort consisting of the faculties who directly cooperate to the Ministry of National Education.
Every year our school is visited by Aisec students from many different countries. Those university students coming from different countries introduce their countries and cultures, which helps them develop them both intellectual and linguistic
Eti Sosyal Bilimler High School was rewarded in English teaching by European Language Award and the school has been cooperating with Germany in the Project titled “ Schools are Shareholders of Future”
Eti Sosyal Bilimler High School every year shows great success in the placement of the students into the univerisities. Besides this success our students take part in many local, national or international project competetitions and be rewardedWithin the framework of Innovation in Education via Technology-A General European Perspective,the teachers teaching in different branches ranging from social sciences to physics, from psychology to biology and everything in between will participate in the in-service training courses and workshops which are available for them in their own branches.
