EST ASSOCIATION

EST Association is a Romanian private non-profit organization, non-governmental , apolitical and independent active in the field of outdoor education, operating under the provisions of Government Ordinance no. 26-2000 , approved , amended by Law no. 246-2005 , on Associations and Foundations, as well as other laws of Romania .
AEST was founded in 1996 working in the field of environment, sports, tourism and it is located in Bucharest, capital of Romania, but operates throughout the country.
Our target group is children and young people from Bucharest and Ilfov county, in particular. They come from families with very different social situations, from children and young people with good financial situations to underprivileged children or young people with various special needs.
Our activities are carried mainly in natural areas of forest and mountain and follow the next principles:
• Promoting models of responsible tourism
• Educating young people in a spirit of respect for nature
• Promoting volunteering, especially in Natural Protected Areas (eco volunteering)
AEST is an organization that uses sport to promote cooperation, tolerance and racist attitudes among citizens and young people in Europe.
AEST is a member of Youth Foundation of Bucharest from 2005 and it is part of the General Assembly which implements several major youth projects in partnership with the other members of the Youth Foundation of Bucharest.
A special attention is given within our organization to the (eco) volunteering actions, the members of our club participating in a number of volunteering projects, some with European components. In parallel with the these activities we try to promote physical exercise in nature, as a means of recreation and education through: hiking mountain sports (trekking), guidance hiking, running, climbing and orienteering, cycling. Since 2002 we are members of the Association of Sports for All Ilfov County, and in 2009, the founders member of the Romanian Federation of Tourism and Ecology.
By participating as partners in two European projects organized by the Italian Union Sport for All -Settimo Cirie branch-, we had the chance to learn from their experience in the field of sports and educational activities.
Our values in relation to young people are moving, diversity, ecology, cooperation, friendship, trust, perseverance, determination, power, liberty. We believe in these values and we send them to our young people every day.
