The Escuela de Educadores y Educadoras en Tiempo Libre ALARCA is a training centre that offers an educational project that adapts to the needs of associations, youth groups and individuals, with the aim of responding to the new and greater demand for training in this field from the organised movement, anticipating future demands in the field of socio-community intervention. ALARCA was born in 1991 as an association that initially brought together people from Alfaro, Arnedo and Calahorra, which is the origin of its name. For several years it carried out activities of socio-cultural animation in the Rioja Baja, reaching the neighbouring villages of Navarra. With this idea in mind, in 1992, ALARCA was created as a school for Leisure Time Educators. Being pioneers in the creation of employment and in promoting work initiatives in the third sector (childhood, disability, youth, senior citizens, etc.). One of ALARCA's many activities has been to train young people who are committed, supportive and eager to actively participate in their environment, with a clearly social character, which in turn helps them to be an active part of the development of the youngest and smallest children in the non-formal areas of their education. Nowadays, cross-border activities are the order of the day, training is more complete once it is internationalised and so ALARCA school responds to the concerns of young people. Opening doors and educational paths to other countries.
