ERYMANTHOS

«Erymanthos», established in 2001, is a cultural Hellenic environmental Non Governmental Organization (NGO), with a particular interest on environment, culture and rural heritage along with agro-ecotourism and cultural tourism promotion. The organization is active in the region of the mountainous Erymanthos and the river Erymanthos in Peloponnesus (southern Greece)
Erymanthos operates as head of other active organizations, members of the «Civil Society» and is staffed by a team of scientists, specialised in environment, economy and informative data. In addition, a number of professional technocrats cooperate with the «Erymanthos» as freelance professional. The headquarters of the organization are located in Athens while a branch is hosted in Peloponnesus.

The organization acts as a consultant for the Municipalities in Peloponnesus and has managed so far to build a relationship of trust and to develop a cooperation link between NGO and the local government. Furthermore, it has set up monitoring for recording and analysis of eco-tourism and rural tourism issues in Peloponnesus.

Erymanthos has considerable experience in the elaboration and implementation of projects. In particular, it has been activated:

1.In coordination of voluntary activities for the protection and emergence of the natural environment (rivers, etc.) and the cultural heritage in Peloponnesus areas (where the famous Mycenaean culture flourished).
2. In providing advisory services with the production of business, regulatory projects and strategic planning for public agencies and private organizations concerning eco-tourism and rural tourism.
3. In writing and publishing the ecological newspaper "Oikopress", the magazine "Feedback" and special books inspired by the above subjects. Based on the above achievements Erymanthos has been able to occupy an important position among the organizations for the environment and culture in Greece.
