EKO's mission is to contribute to the creation of an inclusive society, free from prejudice and discrimination, which will be in the position develop and grow sustainably.
To achieve this mission we focus our activities on the following specific objectives:
A. Empowering youth through non-formal education activities, training opportunities, life-long learning and fostering youth’s active participation and civic engagement
B. Facilitating intercultural and interreligious awareness and solidarity, especially between Europe and MENA regions as well as within Europe, by providing dialogue platforms, and organizing cultural exchanges and tolerance trainings
C. Strengthening cross-border civil society, by providing support, knowledge transfer and sharing of good practices, as well as by developing collaborative initiatives with our broad network of international partners
Our projects include an long list of educational actions, Erasmus+ projects and public awareness-raising initiatives, focusing on the promotion of employability enhancement, on the one hand, and intercultural solidarity and cross-border collaboration of civil society actors, on the other.
Furthermore, EKO has an extensive and expanding network of partners across the Euro-Mediterranean basin and is a member of Anna Lindh Foundation, the International Alliance for Peace and Development (IAPD), the Observatory to Prevent Extremist Violence (OPEV), as well as a Network of Civil society Youth Organizations (Y-NEMO).
