Együttható was founded by social professionals, and enthusiastic young volunteers in 2010 to promote non-formal learning, innovative community services and a new way of thinking in youth and social work. We believe in the power of community which gives personal goals, encourages for cooperation and provides support for its members. We firmly believe, that society develops through autonomous, supportive communities following a bottom-up approach. We believe, the healthy community should be inclusive, shouldn't consist only privileged, or disadvantaged members.
Our vision is a society where communities provide equal opportunities for all young people, so they can efficiently develop their skills to become responsible and competent adults. Együttható is operating a youth information office in the 4th district of Budapest offering regular events and activities, which serves as an access point to the EURODESK network as well.
The youth information office was opened in 2014, it is complementing the activities of local schools, social services and NGOs. The youth information office offers as a point of information for local young people with daily opening hours in the afternoon, our preventive services and periodic events includes language clubs, clubs related to the safe and responsible use of the internet, job-seekers’ club and debate events. We work in close relationship with local family care services and public institutions, especially with schools.
Our founding charters specifies that our youth work has to focus on multiculturalism in every possible ways and our daily work is in accordance with our founding charter. We define multiculturalism in a way which covers social position, physical/mental capabilities, economic opportunities of the young individual besides his/her nationality and ethnicity. This approach manifests in our projects and services as a principle; a principle which aims to include as many young people with different backgrounds into the projects as possible. Participants and beneficiaries can learn from and about each other, experience the possibility of working and living together in efficient ways with people of other background.
Our specific field of expertise is working with and for young people living with disability; our services and projects are designed with young people living with disabilities in mind. Our association implemented several award-winning initiatives in the youth work context, aimed at the inclusion of young people living with disabilities. The staff of the Association is also experienced and qualified in working with young people with multiple disabilities, NEETS and Roma.
Call for partners for our Training Course "Echoes of Tomorrow" which will be implemented from 2 to 9 March, 2024 under Erasmus+ accreditation in Gánt, Hungary.
