Eesti People to People NGO

Eesti People to People is a Non-Profit Organization registered in 1997 in Tallinn, Estonia and with activities since 1993 as a chapter of People to People International (PTPI) NGO.
Eesti People to People participates in non-formal education, organises seminars and workshops for children, youth and adults. Eesti PTP was a partner in Grundtvig Partnership LLP „Europe Needs Active Seniors“ ( 2008-2010), Leonardo da Vinchi Partnership project „CULTURE TREASURE HUNT” (2010-2012), the EuropeAid project "Enhancing policy coherence: making development work better" (2009-2012) DCI-NSA ED/2008/154-226, co-financed by the European Commission. Eesti People to People hosted PTPI Worldwide conference in Tallinn in 2012.
One of the best programs is PTPI International Visitors Program. It is a cultural interaction experience in which members of PTPI's worldwide chapters are offered the opportunity to meet members of chapters in other countries and experience their way of life. This is done through Host Chapter members who provide homestays for visitors from other countries by inviting them into their homes to spend time with them for 3-4 days (it cost 35 euro in Europe and 60 euro overseas). Eesti People to People members hosted hundreds of people from other countries and were guests in many PTPI chapters around the world.
Eesti People to People members participated in the European Youth Forum in Berlin and Kansas City (USA), School and Classroom Program, Young Generation Program, Youth in Action Programme in many EU contries, European Volunteer Service Program, EuroMed program. Eesti People to People organised "Gender and Media" training Course and evaluation meeting in 2011 and 2012 and youth exchange "Creative reading and writing" in 2012 in Estonia. NGO coordinates annual Global Education Week in Estonia. 15 years Eesti People to People had annual summer camp for 60 teenagers in Narva-Jõesuu. In 90th "Democracy School" was one of the best program for youth, "Global Citizen" project was co-financed by PHARE program.
Eesti People to People is member of AKÜ (Arengukoostöö Ümarlaud - Estonian Roundtable for Development Cooperation). AKÜ's main areas of work are Estonian and European development policy, global education and financing for development. AKÜ is a member of the European confederation for development and relief, CONCORD, based in Brussels.
There are PTPI chapters more than on 50 countries in the world. Two of them are in Estonia - in Tallinn and Viljandi with more than 100 volunteers. Presently there are three members in the Eesti People to People board, NGO president is Ruta Pels, vice-presidents are Aleksei Smulski and Leonid Smulskiy.
