Education for Change (Edukimi për Ndryshim – EDU4CH) is a non-partisan, non-profit organisation established in Albania in September 2024. Based in Tirana, the organisation works nationally to improve people’s lives through positive educational, social, economic, environmental, health and democratic change.

Our mission is to transform evidence, partnerships and local knowledge into practical, inclusive and sustainable solutions for communities. We envision an Albania where lifelong learning is accessible to everyone, communities are resilient and inclusive, and citizens—particularly young people, women and vulnerable groups—participate actively in public life with dignity, equality and confidence.

Education for Change’s main areas of work include quality and inclusive education, youth empowerment and employability, civic participation, gender equality, child protection and safeguarding, prevention of violence against women and children, cultural heritage, environmental protection, digital inclusion, human rights and community resilience.

The organisation designs and delivers training programmes, capacity-building activities, mentoring, awareness campaigns, youth leadership laboratories, peer-learning initiatives, public dialogues and community-based actions. We provide technical assistance to teachers, schools, municipalities, civil society organisations and other local institutions. Our activities connect education with social services, employment, health, environmental responsibility and active citizenship.

Youth participation is central to our work. We create opportunities for young people to develop leadership, communication, teamwork, project-management and intercultural competencies through non-formal education, volunteering, mobility activities and youth-led community initiatives. We particularly encourage the participation of young women, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and those with fewer opportunities.

Education for Change applies evidence-based and participatory methods, including needs assessments, stakeholder and risk mapping, inclusive pedagogy, safeguarding measures, mentoring and results-oriented monitoring. Activities are supported by clear objectives, practical tools, feedback mechanisms and measurable indicators. Our approach prioritises inclusion, transparency, non-discrimination, gender sensitivity, data protection and local ownership.

Although Education for Change is a relatively new legal entity, its governing and executive team brings extensive professional experience in education, youth work, social protection, gender equality, child protection, project management, community engagement and cooperation with public institutions. The organisation works in partnership with schools, municipalities, civil society organisations, community leaders and international partners, ensuring that its interventions are aligned with national priorities, European values and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Through its projects and partnerships, Education for Change aims to strengthen learning environments, improve access to community services, increase youth participation and employability, promote intercultural dialogue and solidarity, and enhance institutional capacities for inclusive planning and service delivery. The organisation is committed to expanding successful community-based models and building sustainable partnerships that enable young people and local communities to become active agents of positive change.
