EDUCATIONAL ORGANISATION ΑΚMON S.A was established in Athens, in 1995, and is a Certified Lifelong Learning Centre 2, which operates as a training institution under the current legal-institutional framework for Lifelong Education in Greece.
Akmon’s main offices are established in Athens and four more branches are operating in other greek cities (Tripoli, Drama,Thessaloniki,Sparti). Furthermore due its corporate participation, it has 2 premises located in Ioannina and Volos.
All premises have the necessary infrastructures that include:
• access to disable persons with necessary equipment
• break spaces /library / study halls / internet access via Wifi / WCs,
• teaching rooms equiped with Instructor's desk, 2-seat desks, chairs, white – black boards, interactive board, projectors
• computer rooms equiped with monitors, mouses, keyboards and speakers
Company’s mission is the provision and promotion of Lifelong Education training opportunities as well as the ongoing training of adult learners through innovative programmes, that encourage their personal and business development.
The aim of the company is the design, development and implementation of educational programmes, that cover a wide knowledge field focusing on connecting educational procedure with competitiveness. The company’s basic pursuit, is the observation of up-to-dated market trends to strengthen the adaptability to the increasing needs and demands and the development of skills that will enable learners to become competitive professionals.
MANAGEMENT & ADMINISTRATION
EDUCATIONAL ORGANISATION AKMON is a limited company. The authorized body for the General Assembly and the general management - administration of the company issues is the Board of Directors, which consists of three members. Mr. Konstantinos Bakirtzis is the President, Managing Director and legal representative of the company. He manages all corporate affairs and exercises all powers of the Board of Directors, foreseen by law and the articles of company’s incorporation..
The organisational structure of the company is presented in its chart, where the horizontal and vertical connections between the departments and the company’s activities are set out. Τhe chart is framed by relevant job descriptions, through which duties and responsibilities per job position are clearly defined.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Human factor constitutes the main capital of the company considering that the ability and adequacy of staff’s performance, has a great impact on the quality of the services provided.
The permanent staff consists of 37 people that has a great experience in the development and provision of specialized training and consulting services. Furthermore, the company co-operates with a great number of specialized external associates of all business areas, who participate – when necessary – in the training process as well as in the learners’ support.
AWARDING BODIES
Educational Organisation ΑΚMON S.A has an operation license as a private educational and training body (Lifelong Learning Centre 2) from the National Organisation for Skills Qualification and Professional Orientation according to the National Qualification System of non-formal education.
It is an authorized centre of the qualification bodies CERTIPORT,ACTA, INFOTEST, and organises examinations leading to certification in digital skills.
The company’s operation in Athens follows the principles, set out in the Quality Management Qualified System. The Quality System is based on the demands and specifications, set by the international quality standard ISO 9001:2008.
ACTIVITIES
Since its establishment, EDUCATIONAL ORGANISATION AKMON S.A has implemented approximately 2.130 programmes in Greece, providing 7.200.000 training hours to more than 43.000 unemployed,vulnerable social groups and employees
Through its long experience in the human resources training, the company possesses the necessary know how, the methodologies and the executive and scientific staff in order to ensure educational and consulting services of high quality that give added value to its business operation.
In particular Educational Organisation AKMON S.A.,covers the whole spectrum of educational training and skill development of human resources including::
• Τraining Services: Design, development and implementation of co funded programmes by the ESF to unemployed and vulnerable social groups
AKMON has trained more than 16.200 unemployed in 930 vocational training programmes It is worth to mention that during the «Training Voucher» project the company has collaborated with 2000 private sector enterprises in order to place the unemployed through internship in relevant job positions
• Τraining Services: Design, development and implementation of co funded programmes by the ESF to employees
AKMON has trained more than 27.000 employees in more than 1.200 vocational training programmes.Specifically, in co-operation with the Greek Manpower Employment Organization, the company has trained more than 14.000 SME’s employees in the private sector in more than 670 training programmes.
Furthermore, during the sub – programme “Enhancing social dialogue regarding active ageing by consulting and training executives of social and legislative powers all over the country“,supervised by the European Economic and Social Committee, Akmon has undertaken various actions such as:
Training 90 elected executives in Athens, Thessaloniki, Larisa and Ioannina
Developing training programmes and supportive material
Organising 48 seminars for 1840 executives: employees and self employed in Athens, Thessaloniki, Larisa and Ioannina
Informing general public by organising conferences and meetings and by implementing supplementary activities to learners, employees, executives regarding active Ageing and Social Cohesion issues.
• Consulting and Employment Seeking Services: Supportive services to labour market and entrepreneurship issues, job seeking techniques, self-confidentiality development and personal strategies etc.
It is worth mentioning that from 2013 to 2017 during the «Training Voucher» project AKMON has provided consulting and mentoring services to more than 3.000 unemployed learners all over the country during their enrollment in order to evaluate educational process and to enhance their integration into the labour market by:
identifying and matching learners’ skills and needs with market needs
placing, monitoring and supervising trainees by specialised executives during intership period
offering significant assistance as regaerd as converting internship to active labour market after the comletion of the training procedure
• Εuropean programmes and Initiatives with the development of national and international partnerships.
AKMON has participated in national projects developed by community initiatives such as “EQUAL” projects, in 5 Employment Projects (Horizon, Integra, Youthstart), in 2 Adapt and 2 Leonardo Da Vinci projects
Moreover, the company has taken part to projects and actions regarding social cohesion, fighting discrimination and defending equal rights for refugees, migrants, repatriated, disabled etc
In 2013 Akmon has participated as a leader partner in association with NGO Praksis, VTC Integration and the Greek Forum of Migrants in a programme regarding third-country nationals issues and rights by operating:
1. Bureaus of Legal and Administrative support in Athens, Peireaus Renti, Thessaloniki, Patra,Lamia, Ioannina Lamia, Rhodes and Heraklion
2. ιnformation centres in Drama, Tripoli,Chios
and by developing useful digital and paper guides
ETE In 2012 Akmon has participated as a leader partner in association with NGO Praksis and the Greek Forum of Migrants to a programme regarding the development of Bureaus of Legal and Administrative support for third-country nationals residing legally in Greece» in 3 cities Athens, Peireaus Renti, Thessaloniki,
In 2013, Akmon has participated with the Afghan Migrants & Refugees Community in Greece. in a plan relaled for training refugees and asylum seekers living in Athens The programme was supervised by Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.and consisted of:
1. Learning Greek language in Level A2 for 50 people (with the possibility of certification)
2. Training how to organize and operate Office, for 20 people
3. Vocational training for 46 people in the following areas (Hairdressing,Gardening,Minors and small repairs,Household services)
In 2014 Akmon has participated in programmes addressed to social vulnerable groups in a regional basis undertaking acrions regarding training, consulting, support and promoting unemployed to the labuor market
• Other activities (participation in conferences, exhibitions, workshops etc, conducting surveys, developing educational material, exchange knowledge, best practices and experience with national - international institutions and centres)
