Educatech is a non-profit association based in Málaga that promotes technological education among young people. Founded by a group of friends around 2014, the organization focuses on making electronics, robotics, programming and 3D printing accessible to a wide audience, particularly to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The association is grounded in the principles of free and open-source hardware and software, emphasizing open knowledge and free culture as essential components of modern education. It organizes workshops, talks and practical activities, offering both introductory and advanced training in technologies such as Scratch, Arduino and 3D printing.
Educatech also supports learners and educators by providing online resources and tutorials, as well as a loan service that allows users to borrow equipment for their projects at no cost, fostering autonomy and hands-on experimentation.
Beyond technical skills, the association promotes responsible and safe use of digital technologies, addressing topics like online privacy and cyberbullying. It also seeks to reduce the digital gap and encourage gender equality in STEM fields. Its team consists of multidisciplinary volunteers dedicated to expanding technological literacy throughout the province of Málaga through collaborations with schools and other institutions.
