E Squared

ESquared has developed a Youth Employability Model that ensures young people reflect on their employability skills (Youth Employability Skills Passport) through a mix of activities and methodologies to meet a diverse audience. Presently, ESquared is presently developing the ESquared Moodle which will include the InternZone and expand the Planet Employability model, where young people will have a smorgasbord of choices to enhance and improve their employability opportunities. Furthermore, through the Youth Employability Moodle young people will enjoy on-going support from the ESquared team, in conjunction with its work with a wide global network of partners.

The model developed by the ESquared is scalable and can support a wide intervention process to ensure on-going support for all young people who participate. The model also received an EU Social Innovation award in 2014. The model is predicated on the 360 concept, which has young people completing an ‘Employability Skills Audit’. This is followed by the initial population of the Youth Employability Skills (YES) passport and engagement with the various employability pathways developed by the AEP viz. ‘Employability through Social Enterprise’, ‘Employability Through Sport’, InternZone and Planet Employability. These activities are built around the innovative ‘Your Life is Your Business’ tool which enhances youth engagement and employability. The model created by E Square i.e. Employability 4, forms a key element of the multinational RITDHE project see: www.ritdhe.com. The model is delivered on the back of initial F2F workshops and then run remotely through Moodle and the Moodle app. This model also supported the Sports 4 Employability and Enterprise (S4EE) and the Live Football Manager (LFM), which the E2 team has piloted in Brazil, China, India, South Africa, Turks and Caicos Islands and United Kingdom. Through its partnership with CICUK the E2 team can offer a wider impact through its various models. CICUK specialises in Youth Employability/Community/Sport Engagement and Development/3rd Age Engagement/Refugee Integration and Radicalisation in areas of high need. CICUK will be central to this project along with E2, CICUK utilises Innovative Practice to ensure effective engagement through creating respectful and fair relationships with our community partners. Engagement with CIC brings participants new meaning to life, relationships, learning and work. We focus on engaging community niches that are often ignored, unappreciated and in areas of acute need. Our work includes a wide range of practice domains and current examples includes working with Young Epileptics across London, Perpetrators and Victims of Gang Violence in East London, Young Female Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence in Luton, Youth at Risk of Radicalisation and getting people ready for work in Kent and developing Social Enterprises with community members in Newham and Hackney.
