District Governorship Of Soma

The District Governorship Of Soma was established at the end of the 1800s and it was named as Soma Governorate after the declaration of the republic. It was restructured by the district administration law. The District Governorship Of Soma provides service by one district governor, 17 staff. It is the local representative of the ministries of central organization and responsible for the monitoring the local implementations. The District Governorship represents all the ministers at local level. Thus, the District Governor is the top local body district wide and it can cooperate and coordinate with almost all the public bodies in Soma.
Soma District Governor is responsible for supervising all the institutions, and if necessary can assign any tasks. Soma European Union Projects and Coordination Centre works under The District Governorship Of Soma. One writing manger runs this department with a coordinator. It provides not only counseling about the national and international funding and how to utilize them, but also training about Project Cycling Management to various public institutions in Soma. Soma European Union Projects and Coordination Centre also responsible for raising awareness among citizens about European Union at local level during the harmonization period of Turkey. Furthermore, it is a Eurodesk contact point which provides counseling and informing youth about the funding of various opportunities to travel around Europe and get internationalized. The District Governorship Of Soma, EU Projects and Coordination Centre was founded to set up the needed substructure, prepare the public for EU citizenship, to carry out activities which foster collaboration, communication and coordination to help the citizens adopt and implement the acquiesces for EU member countries. Our administrative mentality is based on local administrations’, public bodies’, private sectors’ and citizens’ collaboration during the accession process to the EU.

Mission: To develop instruments which will motivate the citizens to fulfill the conditions to access to the EU during the harmonization process and implement them to contribute to the sustainability of the development of Soma.
Our coordinator took active part in Eu project. However, we will have close relationships with research and counseling centre in Soma. We have applied European and Ministry Projects in 2017.
Our district has young, active, dynamic population so implementing a project with this population makes us stronger.
After the Mine Disaster The District Governorship of Soma gives special importance to psychological support for families and children who are affected from the disaster. Because of this reason District Governorship of Soma started several campaign for families’, children’s, young girls’, impaired people’s physical and psychological development
