Despite the fact that opportunities to engage in development oriented actions are ample and still expanding, the burgeoning numbers obfuscate reality to the certain extend: most of the development & TA oriented projects are intermediated via big metropolitan NGOs & consultancies, though frequently drawing directly on local know-how (in case of rural/sustainable development, community/youth empowerment, local employment/ entrepreneurship support formulas, LA/local management/services provision/public involvement in DM etc). The bureaucratic obstacles & explicit lack of expertise at local NGOs/CSOs & institutions make them hard to compete for development/TA projects.
The mission of the Foundation is to assist Polish & CEE rural & non-metropolitan organizations to engage directly in peer to peer cooperation with counterparts from EU and beyond - beneficial for both sides. We provide networking, assist in partner search, support in project development & backstopping, free of charge and only to necessarily extend, leaving them to expand further on their own.
We work with organizations possessing certain (can be v. limited) know-how/successfully track of project/s focusing on rural/local economy/sustainable development/community & youth empowerment/informal education/social exclusion e.g. local dependencies chains - like flood risk management- natural retention - landscape conversation/wetlands - local employment/entrepreneurship for rural youth in reed processing & tourism;
