The CWP Production Centre is based upon the Danish Production schools model and the longer term aim is to cooperate with Production school organisations in Denmark, Austria, Finland, France, Germany and Sweden.
We intend to provide an alternative form of education to marginalised young people who need to learn in a different way to the traditional education system that is predominantly academically based to one that is project-oriented and provides individualistic tuition.
The CWP Production Centre provides clear and manageable goals and frameworks for young people who need - or want - learning and practice to be closely connected.
The crux of the learning environment and pedagogy is learning through doing; practical work and the solving of tasks in a working community aimed a real production and marketing of goods and services.
We offer activities in four vocational areas, all delivered in a work based learning setting:
• Media - Film and TV, Music Production, Radio production
• Marketing - Promotion and Publicity, Art and Design
• Hair and Beauty
• Healthy living - Sport and health related activities
Each practical activity is then linked to nationally recognised qualifications at levels 1, 2 and 3 with students completing qualifications via an E Portfolio system as supplied by one File
