COREP is a non-profit consortium founded in 1987 and based in Turin (Italy). It is active in the field of high-level advanced training, especially with drama-based innovative activities based on the Social and Community Theatre Methodology.
SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY THEATRE FOR TRAINING AND EDUCATION
Within its activity, Corep manages the SCT - Social Community Theatre Centre, centre born in 2014 in collaboration with University of Turin,Teatro Popolare Europeo and Corep itself. SCT Centre sums up different know-hows in scientific, artistic, cultural and management fields. It is based on Italian cultural and artistic heritage made of creativity, research and relationships and focuses its aim on the development of plural communities and inclusive societies. SCT Centre has an innovative and multidisciplinary methodology created by Alessandro Pontremoli and Alessandra Ghiglione in 2000. Their vision is centred on the efficacy of theatre and performing arts on human development. Art is a tool to increase personal, professional and community well- being. It has also an influence on citizenship, social innovation and health promotion.
The innovative and multidisciplinary methodology of SCT was developed at the University of Turin at the beginning of the year 2000. The intergenerational team of the SCT Centre combines scientific, cultural, artistic and managerial expertise thanks to a wide network of collaborations with scholars, professionals and operators with a Master’s degree in SCT. The network of partners is made of national and international universities, foundations, for-profit and non-profit organisations, theatre companies and associations; it is a significant resource in terms of cultural innovation, social impact, interdisciplinary research, multilateral projects and international hubs.
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
COREP professionals have strong experience in the following:
- Shaping methodologies for innovative training and education (projects: TIM^2, TIM, HEARTS)
- Combining drama and theatre activities to innovate the way mathematics in taught in primary and secondary school with the Mathemart - TIM methodology, tested both at local, national and international level (Erasmus+ projects: TIM^2, TIM)
- Cultural welfare and wellbeing promotion with creative methods and applied theatre, especially with young people: the methodology has been tested at local level with teenagers (project: SPES4TEEN) and at the international level with university students (Erasmus+ project: HEARTS)
EXPERIENCE IN EU FUNDED PROJECTS
Since its creation, COREP participates in European projects (V, VI, VII Framework programme, LLP, Erasmus+, Alcotra, Horizon 2020), where it has a 35 year experience in: project and quality management, administrative and financial management, user needs analysis, design and development of training models, including pedagogical and organisational aspects, especially for higher and permanent education, user centred design and development of multimedia education, design and realisation of assessment frameworks data analysis, dissemination and promotion of Activities/projects.

With a permanent paid staff equal to 12, an approximate number of temporary staff equal to 122 and an employee specifically dedicated to do the financial management and reporting of the projects funded by the European Commission, COREP ensures careful management control for planning and monitoring the financial aspects of the projects.
LOCAL AND NATIONAL ACTIVITIES IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION AND TRAINING
In the field of education and training, COREP:
- Organises university masters courses, aimed at young graduates and professionals;
- Proposes life-long education activities to update the skills of professionals and researchers;
- Promotes joint activities between businesses, local Authorities and Universities within the framework of special projects;
- Funds and administrates study grants and work placements for university students, graduates and researchers in order to facilitate the transfer of skills from university research Centres to the world of manufacturing and services.
