Coordination of Sisak Youth Associations

Coordination of Sisak Youth Associations (KUMS) is a non-governmental, non-profit association founded in 2005., as a legal entity in the Republic of Croatia . KUMS is a umbrella organization created of five (5) youth Association (legal bodies): G.U.M.A., KIŠTRA TEAM Sisak, Kino Klub Sisak, KULT.com and LOTUS. Particular attention is paid to work with youth, respecting and implementing the ideas generated through the process of learning, commitment to the achieving goals and objectives and communication with the target group of our community, through member organizations.
Coordination of Sisak Youth Associations coordinates and thus affects the operation of associated non-governmental organizations, with the aim of better networked operation, so that the unique and group programs would meet the needs of the target groups to which the work is directed.
The main goal of our organization is to promote and improve the quality of life of the young people and the common interests of associated members, as well as encouraging the association of all interested individuals and youth initiatives in organizations and societies.
Developing partnerships and nurturing collaboration represent the foundation of our work through which we achieve our goals.
Coordination of Sisak Youth Associations works with young people, civil society organizations and governing structures using an integrated development process described in the objectives in the areas of culture, youth work and youth policy development. We play a major role in creating strategies and policies for young people at local community. During 2005, in cooperation with local authorities, KUMS has worked on a proposal for local youth strategy, and city youth program which was adopted by the City Council in the same year. With that project KUMS showed seriousness in youth work on local level and set the conditions for the development of local youth policies that are implemented by the city government today. When we talk about the role of our organization in society, often emphasize the involvement of a large number of members or volunteers through 5 youth organizations associated into one large umbrella organization, as well as through joint Youth Club. Due to the large number of members and how we are the only organization consist of five organizations for youth, Local authorities consider us as a large portfolio of activists and a group of young people who are great resource.

At this point in our youth club we are implementing about 20 workshops such as: Salsa course, Acting course, workshop Little school of history, Magic the Gathering playing workshop, D&D playing workshop, Music workshop, Art workshop, Tea workshop, English course and many more with a few sport and recreation activity such as: table tennis, table soccer, darts ect. Moreover through these workshops we include over 200 people per month making them as our users.
Our youth club is divided into 10 rooms of different sizes, including office space, Information Center for Youth, consultation room, rooms for meetings and seminars, a large hall for events and music programs and male and female toilets with bathroom. The size of whole area is 950m2, of which the maintenance workshop and Youth Info Center Sisak used rooms in the size of 50.4 m2. The rest of the building, sharing the auxiliary facilities for work and storage for equipment. "Great Hall " in the size of 20 x 10 meters is used for events , concerts, sports activities, meetings and seminars and where is furnished the ''stage'' in size of 10 x 5 meters.
