Confcooperative Nuoro Ogliastra

The main mission of Confcooperative Nuoro Ogliastra is to support and promote the development of the co-operative's members, share the values of the co-operation and contribute to the development of the local community.
Confcooperative - A provincial union of Nuoro and Ogliastra (in short: Confcooperative Nuoro Ogliastra) is the association (representation, assistance, protection and revision) of the co-operatives that fall within the historical province of Nuoro, and adhere to Confcooperative.
The membership base of Confcooperative Nuoro Ogliastra is around 120 co-operatives belonging to the sectors of: welfare, services, tourism, culture, and agriculture (with some of the wine, oil and dairy products playing at the highest national level).
The co-operative movement is dynamic: some newly established co-operatives are rising in “new” sectors for the local co-operative model, such as ICT, e-commerce and insurance mediation.
The Provincial Union is particularly active in the construction of local development processes through the activation of local networks (even with a non co-operative) and with the involvement of local stake-holders. Particular attention is given to the processes of participatory planning, active collaboration with all actors in the community (citizens, groups, administrators, technicians, etc), and looking for opportunities for collaboration in the conception and realisation of projects with a positive impact on the area.
Confcooperative Nuoro Ogliastra represents the co-operative members, protecting their interests, supporting their operations and safeguarding their individuality. It suggests and promotes initiatives, measures, local policies in favour of the co-operation and consults with other organisations, institutions, companies and individuals, strategies and initiatives characteristic of the area or sector in order to promote the development of the co-operation.
Confcooperative Nuoro Ogliastra promotes the co-operative movement at the local level. It supports initiatives for sharing the ideals, principles and experiences of the co-operation. The Province of Nuoro is particularly active in promoting the creation of new co-operatives and the development of various co-operative sectors and in the establishment of new co-operatives. In addition to verifying the economic feasibility of new co-operatives, it is particularly relevant for the sustainability and the social value of the new businesses .
Confcooperative Nuoro Ogliastra facilitates a mutual understanding between the co-operative’s members, and encourages them to act within the network and the construction of common strategies. It ensures, with correct and accurate information, participation of the member businesses in activities of the Association at various levels and their representation in the assemblies for the election of bodies. Confcooperative also collects and compiles statistical data and documents on the co-operation, for both personal use as well as for the purpose of general interest.
