CONCORDIA MIDI-PYRENEES

Concordia was founded in 1950 by English, German and French youngsters.
Their aim was to enhance the values of tolerance and peace after the 2nd world war by organising international workcamps of young volunteers.

The aims of Concordia are the following:

- Education at any moment of your life through collective projects.
- Interculturality by encouraging youth exchanges on an international level, always emphasizing the values of peace, friendship and mutual respect.
- Social, by taking part in concrete actions of solidarity, as well as supporting a civic attitude
- Sustainable Development, by encouraging a more respectous way of living and facing climate change.

Concordia counts 200 active members at the national scale involved in its non-formal education project. They take part all year long to actions such as trainings, short workcamps, exchanges.

Concordia is also member of :
- the Alliance of Voluntary Service Organisations,
- the Coordinating Comittee for International Voluntary Services (CCIVS).

CONCORDIA MIDI-PYRENEES was founded in 2015.
Our mains activities are the following :
- International workcamps of volunteers
- Organisation of volunteering within the framework of the EVS, since the delegation is sending, hosting as well as a contact point structure.
- Organisation of other volunteering programs, such as the Civic Service (french long term volunteering program)
- Organisation of short term mobilities as Youth Exchange ans Training Course.

- Gender Equality
- Migration

Those who wish to be even more involved in Concordia’s activities can be elected at the management committee; Concordia is a democratic organisation, led by dynamic and motivated volunteers as well as young people, and supported by paid staff. Today the management committee counts 15 members, there are 1500 subscribers, 25 employees and 200 activities leaders.

The Paris head office supports the 10 regional offices activities i-e the Auvergne, Aquitaine, Brittany, Ile-de-France, Midi-Pyrenees, Normandy, Picardy, Rhône-Alpes, South-East and PACA.

Concordia has the approval of the French Ministry of Youth and Sport and the Ministry of the Environment.
