Community Association Arques

Today, the Association has decided to change its name for this time, to name itself Community in order to avoid any form of amalgam related to the social word, and to take into account both the social center Jean Ferrat and the Espace de Vie Sociale Les Bellons.
Today, its main activities are to provide a welcome for every user of all ages and social backgrounds, by way of:

-The “Enfance” sector dedicated to children aged 2 to 11 for their children allows them to participate in activities adapted to the rhythm and needs of each one, through a leisure reception, accompaniment to school, HIP-HOP sessions and African percussion.
-For the older ones, from 11 to 17 years old by the «Youth» sector where we add youth animation workshops, education and prevention animations to the digital by the geek workshop and by the walkers of the net.
-Activities are extended around adults, families and senior citizens by setting up computer workshops, Nordic and sports walks, sophrology, painting, Zumba gold, memory, cooking, reflexology, African percussion and muscle building or English lessons

Its mission is to educate, act, understand and educate though popular education and trough the integration of so-called non-formal learning approach, complementary to more traditional methods to allow everyone to find his place in society, by acting wherever possible, in France and in the world by accompanying the inhabitants of the territories, understanding their needs and projects by listening to them and fighting all forms of discrimination by applying the principles of democracy and secularism in each of our actions with and on behalf of the inhabitants.

The association does not stop there, since 2019, it appears on two projects in connection with Europe and the international, the project SBS which means Step-By-Step, the project PACE and ENSURE which are in the framework of interreg 2 SEAS/MERS/ZEEN which means in French “provide access to child care and employment” in order to have a socio-cultural experience related to the foreign country. To carry out this playful and cultural activity, Community benefits from local and no local partners.

The Community association has 17 employees, many volunteers and various interns.
