Colegio Internacional Villa de Móstoles

1. We practice a personalized and comprehensive education, developing all facets of the student to an optimal degree. We discover what the capabilities of each one are, and, based on this, the teaching work is programmed.

2. We provide students with extensive training in scientific and humanistic knowledge in the successive educational stages of Early Childhood, Primary, Compulsory Secondary and Baccalaureate, avoiding gaps in learning. Likewise, we promote the acquisition of habits of work, effort and self-improvement, which together give a sense of responsibility.

3. We understand that order and discipline, which are necessary for school life and work, should not be the result of coercion or mere routine. The atmosphere at the School must be disciplined as well as cordial, as a result of mutual respect, dialogue, reflection, collaboration, and solidarity.

4. We encourage habits of democratic behavior and collaboration in collective tasks, such as collegiate organization:
– Respect and tolerance towards others with different ideologies, beliefs, sexes, races, ways of being, physical aspects.
– Participation of students in the planning and development of school activities.

5. The teaching staff permanently updates knowledge and teaching methods and chooses the most appropriate ones for each educational area and stage; The purpose is to encourage students to participate actively and enthusiastically in the learning processes; In this way the best results will be obtained.

6. A systematic plan for continuous improvement of all the processes that make up the educational service is implemented. They will be documented, your practice will be reviewed, errors will be corrected, improvements will be proposed.

7. Teachers and the guidance department must detect and address school adaptation problems and students' learning difficulties. To do this, in addition to ordinary observation, a group or individual psychological and pedagogical evaluation is carried out, through tests and interviews. In this regard, the collaboration of parents is also essential.

Likewise, a school and professional orientation is carried out that facilitates the choice of options in the courses in which it should be taken and that helps to discover one's professional vocation.

8. Interaction with the social and cultural environment is encouraged so that the student develops creative abilities and at the same time awakens a critical spirit regarding the values that appear in that environment.

9. Sensitivity to specific negative events that affect the environment is stimulated, to develop awareness of the need for its care, to follow democratically established environmental values.

10. Through the tutoring, the management team, the parents' association, the school council and directly, a climate of collaboration between the parents of the students and the School is promoted in the educational work of the students, in accordance with the principles and values that govern the life of the Center.

11. Our training plan gives relevance to physical and sporting activity beyond the scope of the subject's curriculum, aware as we are of its contribution to the healthier and more balanced development of students.

12. We educate by opening ourselves to other cultures, reinforcing our European identity and feeling like citizens of the world. It is the confirmation that in today's world borders do not hinder mobility. The School implements Spanish-English bilingualism in teaching in accordance with the legal provisions of the Community of Madrid.

13. The uniform is considered another means of identity of the School, as well as another instrument for assimilating personal and social educational values.

14. Several hallmarks of this educational project refer to personalized attention. Here we specify our vocation to serve students with special educational needs or with autism spectrum disorder or with high abilities. We adopt the means to detect them and have the necessary measures and resources to train them appropriately.

15. The Center implements extracurricular activities to expand instruction: teaching periods added to the minimum legal schedule, dedicated to complementary subjects of the curriculum, most of them in English. They are taught to all Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary School students, although participation in them is voluntary according to legal regulations. In return, the parents of students make a financial contribution for the teaching staff and to help improve infrastructure and equipment.
