CODECA - Center for Social Cohesion, Development and Care has been established and operating in Cyprus since 2016. The aim and core activities of CODECA refer to the social inclusion of marginalized people or at risk population. Currently the organisation is involved in two major AMIF projects, at national level, in which they have established a management model for the daily operation and management of two major Reception Centers in Cyprus: the First Reception Centre and the Accommodation and Reception Centre.
In addition, psychosocial support and empowering activities are provided to socially excluded groups, with emphasis to be given to families with adolescence and third-country nationals, asylum seekers and beneficiaries of international protection. Also, voluntary services are provided to both adults and young people to the municipality where the organisation’s central offices are located, aiming at empowering them to foster their participation and active engagement into work, education and social inclusion in the local society.
Among others, the founders of the organisation have gained important experience on the design, development, implementation and delivery of provision of psychosocial services. Specifically, they are part of the scientific experts’ team which implements and runs 4 Migrant Information Centers as well as 4 Shelters for vulnerable groups.
