City of Gothenburg, SDF Västra Göteborg

Göteborg is the second largest city in Sweden and has about 500 000 inhabitants. Göteborg is famous for several huge events like the Book and Literature market, the amusement park Liseberg and Gothia Cup for young soccer players around the world.
SDF Västra Göteborg is one of Göteborg's 10 districts. Leisure and culture department is one of the administration's activities. The district has about 50,000 inhabitants and has a mixed population; Young and old, family- and single households, native Swedes and immigrants and more high earners than Gothenburg on average. It is also a very segregated neighborhood with large differences.
In Västra Göteborg we have 8 youth centers, they are open to youth in the ages from 10-19 years old. The youth centers are open to all youth regardless of background and has no charges. The youth centers are located in different areas of the district. All our activities are based on young people's participation and impact. In the centers we have many activities like dancecourses, different kind of music activities, internet, handicraft and more. Many of our activities are based on our visitors influence so therefor we work much as supervisors to groups with different interests, for example making music conserts or sport-activities.We also work with a Youth Forum, which is a task we have received from young people and politicians in our district, where they meet for a dialogue on various topical issues. We arrange together with the Youth Forum, Democracy days. This brings together about 200 young people, politicians and government officials discussing the issues that young people feel are important. The Youth Forum also has a pot of money where other young people can seek funding for various events.

We have experience of international projects like Youth Exchanges and EVS. We also have experience of hosting Exchanges and we have been partners in other countries' projects.
Right now are we looking for projects to participate in as partners.
