CIAPE – the Italian Permanent Learning Centre, is a non-profit association co-operating at national, European and international levels with similar organizations implementing training and/or social promotion activities.
The CIAPE team of researchers, teachers and counsellors work to remove barriers to learning. CIAPE pioneers learning strategies for individual and organizational. Through its network of associates, CIAPE maintains contact with hundreds of learners and training providers in Europe.
In order to achieve its goals, CIAPE:
• promotes training, research, guidance, documentation, information, communication, entertainment and experimentation in relation to the needs of national and transnational planning;
• establishes networks, partnerships and collaborations with other European organizations to develop and improve educational opportunities for learners;
• designs a training offer that can facilitate access to education for all, and an advanced system for the recognition of previously acquired skills with the aim to recognise credits from life experience and courses undertaken outside formal education;
• promotes the transnational mobility of learners, providing logistical and operational support;
• uses new information and communication technologies to improve the learning experience and to ease access to specific information and knowledge;
• provides specific advice in the definition of personal and career goals, supporting members in achieving their aims;
• identifies and recognizes knowledge, skills and abilities acquired over a training, professional and personal lifetime, helping to enrich the curriculum vitae.
Recent experiences:
International training addressed to teachers and trainers in Europe.
• How to apply gender mainstreaming to Training Activities. Methodologies and tools. A course funded by the European Grundtvig programme to promote gender mainstreaming, particularly in the planning, implementation and evaluation of training activities.
• Cross-cultural, Diversity and Inclusive teaching strategies in the environment of adult learning. Strategies and tools. A course funded by the European Grundtvig programme for the management of differentiated and multicultural learning environments, highlighting the individual differences.
E-learning & m-learning through new information and communication technologies
• Diversity Manager. Tools and strategies to create, develop and manage a multicultural team. Distance Master degree offering: knowledge about the meaning and implications of diversity management, technical planning and management of a integration paths, tools and techniques for intercultural training, techniques for managing a multicultural team from the process of recruitment up to full integration in a work context.
Counselling and valorisation of informal knowledge.
• Non formal and informal learning valorisation ambassadors. A course funded by the European Grundtvig programme for the valorisation of non-formal and informal learning outcomes, through the VAI "non formal and informal learning assessment tools" Method.
• Autobiographical Methodologies in Adult Education. A course funded by the European Grundtvig programme to promote the autobiographical method as an aid to training programmes and as a tool for the promotion of active citizenship.
Project Planning and Management of European partnerships.
• Labour Market in Touch. New non-routine skills via mobile game-based learning. An European project co-funded by the Leonardo da Vinci programme and managed in partnership by seven member countries. InTouch project aims to establish an innovative approach that will enable new generations of workers in the service sector companies to develop their key non-routine skills through mobile learning.
Individual Mobility for voluntary and educational purposes.
• Field tours experts. How to foster engagement of adults, especially if low skilled in learning activities by the mean of educational trips. A course funded by the European Grundtvig programme to take advantage of outdoor training, promoting recreational opportunities which connect informal learning with instructional content.
