Located in the heart of the Drouot neighborhood in Mulhouse, the Social and Cultural Center LE BOAT is a place for gathering, mutual support, and local initiatives, open to all residents. Since its creation, it has been committed to meeting the needs and expectations of families, young people, seniors, and all local stakeholders, guided by the values of humanism, solidarity, and participatory democracy.
LE BOAT aims to be a community hub where everyone can find their place, contribute to collective energy, and take part in building a more united and vibrant neighborhood. Its social project, co-designed with residents, volunteers, and partners, is structured around four key priorities for 2025-2028:
Combating poverty through solidarity.
Healthy living.
Building community.
Educational success and personal and collective growth.
Over the years, the center has evolved to adapt to the changing realities of the neighborhood. The creation of new areas of focus, such as the Nature & Ecology Hub and the Access to Rights Hub, demonstrates its ability to innovate in order to better support residents in their daily lives. Today, LE BOAT brings together over 1,200 members and is supported by a team of 21 employees, along with around 50 dedicated volunteers.
More than just a service provider, LE BOAT is, above all, a space for social connection—a place where relationships are built, ideas come to life, and every resident is encouraged to play an active role in their community. Together, residents, volunteers, and professionals work every day to build a lively, supportive, and forward-looking social center.
