Center for Social and Economic Development

Center for Economic and Social Development (Centar za društveno ekonomski razvoj -CDER) is an NGO headquartered in Jagodina, founded in 2005 at the initiative of qualified experts in different areas, aspiring to act locally, regionally, nationally and internationally and to become positive and creative factors of social development within national and European framework. CDER operates across several districts (Pomoravlje, Braničevo, Šumadija, Jablanica, Nišava, Rasina, Toplica...) with special focus on Pomoravlje district. We have members in 8 municipalities.

CDER beneficiaries are primarily legal entities (NGOs, local self-governments, various public institutions, development agencies...), as well as young people from several Serbian districts (young people through their organizations, students’ parliaments, and young people as individuals interested in social engagement...).

CDER is one of the most active NGOs in Serbia in the area of youth policy. So far it has implemented a large number of projects for youth and piloted new practices of youth work. We are very experienced in realization of th E+ KA2 projects (we've coordinated four E+K2 projects so far).

We are the founder and member of the National Association of Youth Work Practitioners, co-founder of the Serbian Youth Umbrella Organization and a member of Y-Peer.

CDER is a resource centre of the Ministry of Youth for the implementation of youth projects in Pomoravlje district.

The management board and management of CDER include leading national consultants and experts in specific areas relevant for local communities. Our members are leaders in their communities in different areas, recognized as agents of change – currently there are 24 of us. Depending of the type of activity, a great number of people participates in CDER work on a volunteer basis, often people who are not members of our organization but support our work.
