Caritas Venezia

The catholic Caritas diocesana, of which the Bishop is the President, is the pastoral organisation of catholic Church in Italy formed to promote, in collaboration with other bodies, the witness of charity of the ecclesial community, in forms appropriate to the times and needs, with a view to integral human development, social justice and peace, with particular attention to recent and predominant educational function.
The Caritas diocesana has at least five tasks:
-Community animation sense of charity and justice.-
-coordination of ecclesial charity initiatives and human promotion.
-Animators and operators, different title are involved in diaconia of charity, but of human service and that to accomplish this service must assure themselves adequate competence. There are three areas of educational endeavor in which must engage the Caritas diocesana:the animators of the parish; operators of various charitable services;Christians engaged as professional social and health workers in the public and private services
-the diocese's awareness to the problems of hunger and underdevelopment.In particular help Christian communities:to become aware of the dimensions of the problems posed by hunger and underdevelopment and responsibilities imposed on them;concrete actions to express solidarity which can take a variety of forms and proposals;to create a climate of acceptance and respect of the presence of immigrants.
-solidarity in emergencies.As regards the method of intervention, it is always the principle that the vcarità must point to the goal of the autonomy of persons. This is not to replace but to make a part of the way together towards the exceedence of the temporary fix. Readiness and continuity are two fundamental characteristics of a real help
