Cap Berriat

Cap Berriat is a non-profit organisation based in Grenoble, France, dedicated to supporting youth-led initiatives and empowering young people to turn their ideas into action.

We see ourselves as a resource at the service of young people's initiatives. Rather than designing projects for young people, we provide the tools, resources, spaces and support they need to develop their own ideas, experiment, organise collectively and bring their projects to life.

Rooted in the values of popular education, our approach is based on autonomy, learning by doing, peer-to-peer exchanges and collective empowerment. We believe that young people should be able to define their own goals, make their own decisions and take an active role in shaping the society they want to live in.

Each year, we support hundreds of youth-led projects and grassroots initiatives across a wide range of fields, including culture, civic engagement, social innovation, community life and the social and solidarity economy.

Our support is free, accessible and tailored to the needs of each initiative. It includes individual guidance, training, networking, access to equipment and shared spaces, and support for developing and managing associations and collective projects.

Through venues such as La Capsule and Le Transfo, we also provide places where young people and emerging organisations can meet, collaborate, experiment and develop their activities.

Cap Berriat does not impose a specific thematic agenda on the initiatives it supports. Our role is to create the conditions that enable young people to act, whatever their field of interest, while promoting democratic participation, inclusion and collective action.

We are interested in building European partnerships to exchange practices, strengthen youth-led initiatives and explore new approaches to youth empowerment, non-formal education and international cooperation.
