Buurtsport Ronse

Buurtsport Ronse brings sport to vulnerable groups. The most important part in this are children en youngsters in disadvantaged neighbourhoods. This part of the organisation is called Street Action. After school, in the weekend and/or during school holidays, volunteers organises doorstep sport in the specific neighbourhoods. The volunteers are recruited amongst the participants and are stimulated to engage themselves for their neighbourhood. Professionals provide in training courses, sustained feedback and moments of evaluation. And of course also moments of fun and joy. For this project, Buurtsport Ronse has a very good collaboration with LEJO Ronse who is an NGO with a lot of expertise in experiential learning, personal develop pathways and empwoering of young volunteers.

Besides Street Action, Buurtsport Ronse is also active with other vulnerable groups as men/women of cultural minorities, people who lives in poverty, homeless people and people with disabilities, eighter mentally or physically. The aim is always to bring sport to all of this groups, and it's done in a strong partnership with social organisations.
