We work with young people that go through or may in the future - with regard to their environment - go through: - complicated life events (eg. detachment from family, family dissolutions, new partners of theirs parents, engagement in risky peer groups, difficulties in school, choice of career and development of working habits and social seclusion and marginalization) - conflicting social situations (eg. criminal activities, conflicts with parents or establishments)- negative experiences and risk behaviour (eg. premature or risky sexual experiences and behaviour, bullying, truancy, experimenting with drugs) Variety of languages and cultures as a topic of our project, we chose due to the specifics of our region. On one hand the volunteer will have a possibility to get to know especially different Czech and Polish culture, partly Slovak, on the other hand, the presence of the volunteer gives our clients and the community a chance to get to know a language and culture of a different country and helps to realize the possibilities of travelling and getting to know Europe and other counties, through for example EVS. Main activity that a volunteer will do is to assist a contact worker on service with the work with children and youth, streetwork and help with the band rehearsal room operation. The basis of our work is social work and the free-time activities, which preparation and realization will be partly given to the volunteer. The volunteer is given a wide space for self realization and use of his hobbies along with the support from the workers.
