Brest Local Regional Development Fund

Our goal is sustainable development of the Brest region

The Brest Local Regional Development Fund is a non-profit organization that promotes educational, social, cultural and charitable initiatives that facilitate sustainable development of the Brest region. The Fund was established in August 2012.

The fund 's interests cover four thematic areas:
• regional development;
• development of professional competences;
• entrepreneurship development;
• social initiatives.

The Fund actively cooperates with foreign partners from Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Ukraine, as well as with Brest universities.

An educational center New Point has been established on the basis of the fund since 2013. There, at least 1000 people annually participate in trainings, seminars and round tables and take part in business meetings with foreign coaches. The Brest Local Regional Development Fund has been the Centre for Entrepreneurship Support since 2017. The organization also acts as a regional representative office of "Startup School".

Main projects
2013-2014 - With the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Belarus, the project "Brest Regional Bureau of Career" was implemented for young people. An internet portal was established for placing vacancies and CVs, and also offices of the Bureau were opened at universities in Brest;
2015-2016 - The fund was a partner and organizer from the Belarusian side of the 5th and 6th Brest-Sedlets bike races of entrepreneurs, the purpose of which was to build and expand partnerships between representatives of business of Belarus and Poland;
2015 - Local initiative "Authentic can be contemporary" within the framework of the EU/UNDP project. As a result of the initiative, a workshop for applying a national ornament to T-shirts was opened in Malorita, which became a kind of tourist brand of the Malorita region;
2017-2019 - Program "Women in Business";
2017-2019 - Project "Support for women’s entrepreneurship with the emphasis on social business in the Brest and Minsk regions" – it was the first program developed in Belarus to train women in the peculiarities of conducting socially oriented business. The partners were Brest Technopark, Belarusian Union of Entrepreneurs, ODB Brussels, Cooperation of Business and Creative Women, Social Technologies for Business. The partners on the German side were Belarusian-German Society and Society for International Education and Cooperation "CoopForum International";
2017-2019 - Project "Strengthening the role and support of women’s entrepreneurship," as a result of which without funding the women’s community in Brest began to hold consultations, educational events, round tables, discussions on a regular basis;
2018 - International training program for coaches and consultants in the field of social business Train-the-Trainer;
2018 - project "PRodvizhenie 2018 - PR and media companies for civil society in the regions of Belarus" within the framework of the program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany "Development of cooperation with civil society of the countries of Eastern Partnership and Russia." It included the School of PR and media competencies and the Belarusian-German Partnership Forum;
2018-2019 - local initiative "Promoting the implementation of responsible economic policy in the Brest region by combining the funds and opportunities of the interested influencing parties and organizing an open dialogue with the participation of authorities, the public, the entrepreneurial and academic community" together with the Institution "Research Center of the Institute of Privatization and Management." It included a study of the current state and prospects of development of small and medium-sized enterprises of the Brest region, and also the establishment of a dialogue between business, state authorities and the scientific community;
2019 - free training program Women Tech Hub - basics of IT for girls;
There are two permanent social projects:
• "Mother 's fairy tales," in the framework of which actors, TV and radio presenters and also volunteers read fairy tales for children in playrooms and bookstores;
• "Health starts with a smile" is carried out in ENT department of the Brest Children 's Regional Hospital, where the fund equipped a playroom and organized performances of specially trained hospital clowns.
