Better World Foundation - NGO

Better World Foundation (BWNGO) is one of the top ten Youth Organizations in the Middle East and North Africa and the fastest growing grass-root youth-based organization. We have initiated a Sustainable Innovative Development Model to integrate education and training to reduce unemployment in Egypt and incubate social entrepreneurs.

BWNGO aims to prepare the Egyptian youth to succeed in the modern professional world through offering various educational/training Skills. In addition to offering research opportunities on Environmental and Social related projects as well as social entrepreneurship to create job opportunities for unemployed youth and equip hundreds of young underprivileged Egyptians with knowledge and entrepreneurial skills needed to succeed, and revitalize Egypt’s economy and community. This development model has been replicated in other different countries in the region.

Better World attended the 2008 Global Engagement Summit in Chicago and was given the title of “Best Development Project for 2008.” In 2010, Better World participated in AEGEE’s EuroArab Youth Exchange. More recently, we were ranked in the top 10 for the King Abdullah II Award for Youth Innovation and Achievement.

In 2012, Better world was selected as one of top 10 Community Practice Organization from The International Labour Organization. In 2014, Better World got the EVS – Erasmus Accreditation to be one of the top organizations in the partner countries to work internationally. In 2016, Better World Egypt hosted the first Youth Exchange to happen in Egypt and it was a very successful one.

Better World Foundation’s main objectives are increasing languages and computer literacy, providing life-skills education and employment support. Our target group is Youth of an age range (18-35 years old) with a more focus on underprivileged Public University students and recent graduates regardless of their gender, religion, color or ethnicity.

In addition to providing Life Skills Education Seminars including Management Skills, Organizational Skills, Time Management, Resume Building, Interviewing Skills, Public Speaking and Presentation Skills, Communication Skills, Work Attire, Critical Thinking, Professional Health, Leadership Skills, and Team Work.

Besides our main program, Better World also offers Internship and volunteer Positions in various programs (i.e. Social Awareness, training, Environmental, Job Listing and Entrepreneurship). Our interns and volunteers have conducted practical research papers, campaigns and awareness events on different topics including “Nile River Water Treatment: What Can We Do?, Waste Treatment & Recycling, What is the environment?, An Anti-Drug & Alcohol, Stop Sexual Harassment, food reservation, agriculture and recycling in Egypt and Swine Flu Awareness”. This includes integration of Art, Environmental related programs, and social inclusion.

Since establishment of Better World Foundation, We had international volunteers from different countries in the world of different culture, gender and religion, including USA, Canada, several countries in Africa and Europe.

We have been giving a real and practical opportunity for increasing the awareness and acceptance of other cultures and religions through implementing youth projects. And we believe that our participation in this project will allow us to share our experiences working with youth from different countries as well, improve our working environment in order to provide a better place for intercultural exchange.
