Beachklub Ládví o.s.

The club started in 2008 as a small volleyball club with only 6 pitches, but evolved over the years in size and expertise – now it offers 18 volleyball courts with the best graded sand in town (among them 8 indoor courts) and 8 tennis courts. Apart from volleyball and tennis the activities of the club include the following:
- outdoor cross fit workout centre
- boxing ring for young people from the neighbourhood
- trampolines for little children
- ping pong tables

The Beachklub runs activities for children, adults and seniors, including volleyball trainings with experienced beach volleyball coaches (regular courses or individual lessons), beach volleyball tournaments (for professionals, amateurs and children), sport events for children and parents, cultural sport events on special occasions, summer camps in the Czech Republic or abroad etc. In summer the pitches are open to public and the whole area is an important leisure centre for the citizens of Prague 8 and for others.
One of the aims of the Beachklub is to raise a new generation of children who will enjoy sport but who will also come up with new ideas and who will contribute to the development of the Beachklub and of the sport scene in Prague.
The team of the Beachklub has people experienced in coaching, sports management and didactics. Most of the senior coaches have a degree from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of the Charles University. Some of the coaches specialize on working with children and therefore the Beachklub offers trainings and activities from children from 3 years (kindergardens).

Beachklub Ládví cooperates with the Departement of Education of the District Council of Prague 8 and through this department also with 15 pubic primary schools established by the DC Prague 8. The cooperation with the public school runs on an ad hoc basis when the schools come to the facilities of the Beachklub with their PE teachers and use the facilities during their classes or as after-school activities. Beachklub also collaborates with 2 private schools (The Thomas Mann Primary School of German-Czech Understanding and the Meridian International School) and provides sport and educational services for them as a part of their curricula with the trainers of the Beachklub. Beachklub also cooperates with the vocational school and practical school (school for children with learning difficulties and special needs) and organizes activities for its pupils – children at the risk of social exclusion. Furthermore cooperation with the Charles University Faculty of Sports is established.
Through all these activities Beachklub has access to the target group of the project – the young people interested in sports.
Apart from the schools the Beachklub cooperates with many other stakeholders – it is a member of the Czech Volleyball Federation. Most of the employees have studied in the Faculty of Sports of the Charles University and still follow their academic career there. Furthermore the Beachklub cooperates with the Czech Olympic Committee and other key stakeholders in the sports area.
A rather new activity for Beachklub is the combination of sports and travel or sports and leisure which creates new opportunities for entrepreneurship. Beachklub Ládví regularly organises summer camps which are targeting children, adults and even seniors and take place in Italy and in the Czech Republic (in Poděbrady, in Prague or by the Mácha lake).
Event management is an important part of the activities of the Beachklub – it regularly organizes big events for adults or children and also high level sport events. In 2016 Beachklub Ladvi is hosting the Junior European Championship in Beach Volleyball.
The club is currently involved in an international projects financed by the Erasmus+ Sport Action named Move Up to be Healthy and Happy http://moveupproject.blogspot.cz/ The project focused on healthy living and promotes it through sports activities at schools. The target groups are teachers, pupils and their parents.
