Bartin University Continuing Education Application and Research Center

Bartin University Continuous Education Center (BUNSEM) is a department of Bartin University that provides non-formal education for all participants of different background and education and of different age groups. The mission of BUNSEM is to support life-long learning through organizing trainings ranging from trainings on vocational education, EU Project Implementations, language learning (German-English- Turkish for Foreign Students), preparation to advanced language exams, playing instrument such as guitar and viola, sports activities such as boxing. We are also organizing collaborations with such institutions as Turkish Employment Organization for entrepreneurs who want to set up their own business. The Center provides these trainings for individuals who are willing to improve their skills in a field and for a reasonable price for those individuals who do not have the opportunity to attend to such courses for economical difficulties and thus, contribute to and support the individual and public improvement. The trainers of the programme include lecturers of the university, experts from both university and institutions outside the university. And the target groups of the trainings include both people who want to develop themselves in a totally new field or who already made a process in a specific issue. To give an example, BUNSEM organizes Basic English- German and French Speaking Classes for beginner learners as well as Fluent English Speaking and Translation classes for advanced learners. So not only the members of the university attend those classes but also the people of the city, willing to learn a language for either work –like writing EU projects for their organization- or as a hobby. Besides, the Center provides summer courses for younger individuals like learning English via music and games for elementary school students. As the staff of the school and center increases, the Center will offer a wide range of courses in its body.
