Aziziye Kaymakamlığı/Aziziye District Governorate

Aziziye District Governorate is located in Aziziye, Erzurum. Aziziye is one of the central
districts of Erzurum which is in the eastern part of Turkey. Aziziye covers 1.686.72 km2
land and its altitude is 1812 meter. The total population of Aziziye is 50.991. There is a
thermal hotel where natural spring can be enjoyed and used for complementary
treatment of some health problems. The places where you can do winter sports is very
close to Aziziye. Also historical places can be visited easily thanks to transportation
facilities. It is just 5 km away from Erzurum Airport.
Aziziye District Governorate is a Local Public Body which is responsible for the whole
district of Aziziye, Erzurum. There are many governmental offices working under the
organisation like District Director of National Education, District Director of National
Health, District Director of Sports, etc. The organisation is the representative of the central
government in the rural area. Our main aims are informing and raising awareness of the
European Union and its educational programs; promoting self-fulfilment and personal
development of young people through educational programs of the European Union and
developing non-formal education, intercultural dialogue, international cooperation and
active civil society. As well, we are focusing on:
- To improve the quality of life of children and youth through professional and volunteer
work with promotion healthy ways of life
- To promote informal education, voluntarism, ecology, preventing of unwanted forms of
behaviors (delinquency, drug addiction…) developing of healthy ways of living
- To promote multiculturalism and peace,
- To promote active citizenship, solidarity, tolerance and understanding
