AWO SANO Nordsee gGmbH was founded in December 2010. The shareholder is the
AWO SANO gGmbH based in Rerik. The AWO SANO Nordsee gGmbH has
December 2010 the family holiday village Schillig / Wangerland as well as the holiday centre in
Burhave/ Butjadingen, which formerly belonged to the AWO Bezirksverband Weser Ems.
Both houses are recognized nationwide by the Joint Working Group for Family Recreation and
are represented in the catalogue of the Federal Working Group for Family Recreation. In the AWO
SANO
gGmbH, several clinics for preventive medicine and rehabilitation for mothers, fathers and children
(SGBV §24 and §41) directly or via subsidiaries. Apart from the two companies
at the North Sea there are three more non-profit family holiday resorts (SGBVIII §16) in Rerik/
Baltic Sea, Dambeck/ Müritz National Park and Oberhof/ Thuringian Forest. The latter are already
since 14
years in the field of EU project work in the field of non-formal learning.
But also the family holiday village in Schillig, has already advocated non-formal learning on a
European level.
We carry out in the past a youth exchange and a networkmeetig via Erasmus + and Youth in Action.

The facilities are located in scenically attractive locations and have a high level of
structural standard (handicapped accessible and family friendly). The area of non-profit family
recreation has been an important one for 15 years,
successful part of the activity of AWO SANO. Now the topic finds
family recreation is also included in the current coalition agreement of the government, which
further underlines the importance of family policy.

The AWO SANO Nordsee gGmbH operates
non-profit family holiday resorts. In the area of family recreation there are various and long-standing
Experiences. In our facilities, framework conditions are created that enable families to
strengthen the ability of parents and grandparents to bring up children and to develop knowledge and
Teaching leadership skills. The family holiday village Schillig has also been an inclusive business
since 01.04.2019. This means that 50% of the employees have a disability. Since 2016, our sister
organisation, our holiday centre on in Burhave, has been an inclusion company.
The houses are meeting places, here experiences can be made
and help for self-help are stimulated. The main focus for the
House is in the area: family recreation and family education according to §16, SGB VIII and §16 SGB
VIII A General promotion of education in the family. Target groups are people and families with
low income, families, children and adults from socially difficult families who live here
Educational and recreational opportunities, disabled people, people who can perceive their
and people over 75 years of age.
We therefore have a good basis for the motion before us. For us, health is an issue that we live by
every day. Both among our employees and our guests.

Furthermore, the application was made for the quality label of the European Solidarity Corps
