Athletic Club Kvarner Rijeka

Athletic club Kvarner (AKK) is one of the largest sport clubs across all disciplines in all of Croatia, boasting a 90+ years of existence, 850+ active members and a number of world, European and Olympic medals. It is the only club with a waiting list for members from 2 years of age and onwards, continuously committed to community engagement, with a strong media presence and a positive cash balance supporting ambitious investments in professional athlete development. AKK has had a strong and resilient performance even during the COVID-19 pandemic when both athletic trainings and events were limited, indicating that its survival is closely tied to the club’s philosophy and the unyielding commitment and enthusiasm of its staff and volunteers. Its management understands that for the club to be able to assert its presence on the global scene it needs to transform its administrative and coaching hierarchy, instil an entrepreneurial mind-set among its ranks and continuously improve its program offer (both
professional and recreational) and training quality.
