ASTREA-ICSCE

We are a Spanish NGO registered in the National Register of Associations Interior Ministry and recognized by the AECI (Spanish International Cooperation Agency) as NGDOs Organization Non-Governmental Development.
We are part of Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures, UNOY (The United Network of Young Peacebuilders) the Network of Training Schools for Amnesty International.
The ASTREA-ICSCE association has been created by professionals related to teaching, culture, social work and development cooperation. Thanks to our professional experiences, we have detected what each sector needs and we have realised as well that there are a lot of holes that require an involvement. This made us think about the need of creating an organisation to try to overcome these lacks as good as possible according to our possibilities.

ASTREA-ICSCE is registered in the Ministry of Interior National Association Database (Group 1 Section 1 National number: 591643), in the AECID's (the Spanish Agency for the International Development Cooperation) NGO Database and it's a member of the Anna Lindh Foundation Spanish network for the dialogue between the cultures and of CRIN (Child Rights Information Network).

ASTREA-ICSCE looks after the following general aims:
Act and cooperate in those geographical areas where it is necessary to work by encouraging the cooperation and the co-development between the cultures.
Favour the dialogue and the fact of living together in an intercultural way all over the society.
Encourage the young people active participation.
Work to reach the equal opportunities, especially for the equal access to the education for everybody.
Encourage the equal opportunities and the co-existence of the different cultures, gender as well as the integration and the fact of living together in an intercultural world.
Increase the participation of young people in the participatory democratic system.
Offer spaces where young people can interact, by avoiding the passive participation.
Promote the international mobility as a way of self-development, the intercultural comprehension and the development of the destinations and the cultures we visit.
Boost the solidarity and promote tolerance among the young people.
Give expression opportunities, ways and tools to young people so they can show their interests and ideas by being an active part of the society.
Promote an active citizenry as well as all the rights and duties related to it.
Keep and increase within our organisation a team of compromised and responsible professionals.
Work for the equal opportunities.
Make and promote awareness actions to reveal the real life of the less fortunate to the population sensitive to cooperate as well as mobility and volunteer actions as a way of learning and to make aware.
Be responsible of the role we play in each intervention by working on the understanding of compromise and equality.
