Associazione Turistica Pro Petralia "F. Tropea"

The Association Pro Loco “F.sco Tropea” was established in 1937 by some people who shared the desire to contribute to the valorization of their own heritage and territory.
Its main activities are: to increase tourism, to organize events, seminars, festivals and guided visits for schools and tourists in general. Among the most important festivals organized by the association there are the “Chestnut Festival”, which takes place every year on the last Sunday of October. The most important event organised by Pro Loco and the association "Ballo Pantomima della Cordella" is mediterranean folkloristic international meeting.
In 2006 the association organized a conference, “Land and Legality” was its name.
Pro Loco is in cooperation with other associations, such as the drama company “Teatro della Rabba” and the local newspaper “Petrino”, it also collaborate with "Petralia Youth Council" that took part to a 1.3 youth in action project called "Giopolis".
Moreover the Pro Loco of Petralia Sottana is partner of UNPLI (National Union of Italian Pro Loco associations), Gal Madonie for local tourism and of the Madonie tourist district. Our organisation already organised a european project called "Stop&GO!" action 1.1 (hosting Young people coming from Cyprus,France,Bulgaria and Romania), and has been involved in many Others activities. The assciation organise every year different kind of intercultural activities, and social events.
