Associazione Sichem - Crocevia dei Popoli

Associazione Sichem – Crocevia dei Popoli (Sichem Association- crossroads of people) was born in 2000 as an arm of diocesan Caritas of Arezzo-Cortona-Sansepolcro, whose services at diocesan level it manages.
The Association is a reference point for local institutions as regards the battle against socio-economic poverty and social inclusion.
Since its birth the association has been active in listening activities, in taking charge and identification of personalized projects for re-emergence from state of need, in relation with territorial networks, (social services of municipal bodies and healthcare companies,territorial employment offices,charitable institutions, associations which do social work).
The Sichem association also operates in the vocational education sphere, in promotion of human rights, in education to a world community and in teaching programs in schools.
Its interest falls also on the international sphere through actions of support and cooperation in many countries in the south of the world.
Since 2004 the Association has promoted studies about the characteristic of poverty in our diocesan territory through both data coming from Caritas network and statistical indicators or thematic survey and as result of these studies it publishes a Report of Poverty yearly
